The Goodness of Our God

I am so taken back by what i read in the scriptures that i have to share.
First of all, i am feeling quite refreshed this morning because no crying from Charlie last night! I could hear that he was awake at 3am so i fed him laid him back down and he didn't wake again until 7am. It was a wonderful night sleep. And now, even better, he is taking his morning nap with no fuss or crying. It's been a weird day so far and i don't want to get my hopes up for this good behavior but i am enjoying it while i can.
So with my rested body and in my extremely good mood i ate a good breakfast, showered, and sat down to read my scriptures. Today i read 2 Nephi chapter 9 in The Book of Mormon. I have read this chapter multiple times and have it marked up pretty nicely but for some reason today it was like i was reading it for the first time. I recommend reading it. The chapter is about the sacrifice and atonement Jesus Christ.
Let me give a little background. We all die physically. No matter what we do in this life it is bound to happen sooner or later (hopefully later). In this Chapter, the Prophet Jacob who is writing, calls our physical death 'the grave'. Another fact that we may not think about often or maybe never have is that our spirits also can die. But we have control over this one. Jacob calls our spiritual death "hell". He said that people could be living but spiritually dead. I know that we have control over this because i have done things in my life that offend the spirit. For example, watching a movie that had bad language and inappropriate scenes. I felt yucky! That feeling of our spirit being offended is also known as our conscience. What a helpful gift from God to help us make good choices.
Jesus Christ has overcome physical death which means every person who lives on this earth will someday receive a perfect and immortal body after death. No cost! Just by coming to earth he provides us with this gift. Christ also overcame spiritual death 'hell' but since we have control over our spiritual death this comes with a cost. When we make mistakes we need to repent and then continue to try make good choices in this life. If we live our life in that way Jesus Christ will satisfy the demands of justice that are required for sin.
My last part i will share is that God loves ALL his children! Those who don't know Him and those who do know Him. He wants us so badly to know Him. He wants us to feel His love. He wants us to have joy. He wants our families to be together forever. He wants us to follow him. I know from my personal experience that there is no better way. Life is AMAZING when we are following that conscience he gave us, yes, sometimes its the harder choice to make but it is SO worth it. I hope this all made sense. If you have questions please ask or just go read 2 Nephi Chapter 9 it's a goodie!
