walk down the boulevard

I don't often, or maybe never, enjoy a nice morning walk in the winter. The air is crisp and the cool wind is soft. I enjoy this walk down the boulevard with the snow covered mountains in view. I'm bundled in my favorite burnt orange down coat, north face brown boots (that were a steel from rei), my tulle cream hat, and the homemade knit mittens from Brook. I love the feeling of my legs working and my stomach feeling it too. That's a plus of the extra cargo: a stroller with a baby inside. He is now sleeping and looks absolutely perfect. His binki sits halfway in his mouth as it no longer has a purpose.
I sit on a park bench and look at the vacant playground. It doesn't get much use in the winter besides the teenagers who skip school and make it their hangout. I did that back in my high school days minus the skipping school part.
I can't wait to come here when Charlie is older. I'll get to watch him climb stairs, go down slides, and ask me for help on the monkey bars. Whenever I think of those fun times to come I wonder, what will he be like. It's a mystery to me now.
My bum is now a frozen piece of meat! And my stomach is growling. I guess it's time for me to move on and get back to our warm cozy home.
