Happy Valentines Day!

My eyes are a bit heavy this afternoon. And it's OK because at least Charlie's sleeping now. Babies are so unpredictable!

My Valentines day started off right with my sweet husband making me a delicious breakfast. Pancakes with maple syrup, hot chocolate, and a fruit drink made with a pear and 2 oranges. It was exactly what i needed to get me through today.

It's been a low key day for Charlie and I. He didn't really sleep last night so he's napping well. I took a nap myself but am lacking a bit of motivation to do much...so here i am

It's fun reminiscing of my past Valentine Day memories. Fourth grade a boy gave me a jumbo pencil, all the girls giggled and i thought it was nice but i was never the type of girl to have a "boyfriend". Eighth grade i got two gifts from two different boys! I sure did feel special that year! One boy shyly and secretly gave me a silver butterfly necklace. The other boy was surrounded by his friends coming down the hallway, pushed into me by another kid, he handed me a heart box. In the box was chocolates, and a handmade 3D heart poem. You know how you accordion fold a piece of paper to make something stick out? That's what he did. If i remember correctly it was your typical Roses are Red Violets are Blue poem. It was very sweet. In college one year i received a bouquet of pink flowers from a good "friend". And another incident in college a boy i hardly knew took me to dinner and then to the book store where we read children books. It's such a funny holiday. Back then, you know in my "younger days" i loved all the hype that came with Valentines Day. The pink and red hearts, the chocolates, the crushes, the flowers, the idea of LOVE...i loved it all!

Now that i am married i feel like everyday is a day to celebrate love. Everyday is special with Andy! I try to do the simple things to make him happy. For example: his laundry, i make him lunches to take to work, dinner WITH dessert (to him dessert is a yummy fruit), we have sit down meals, i will send him a picture of Charlie, i encourage him, i tell him i love him, and i feel like showing him my love not just on Valentines Day but EVERYDAY is the key to our happy marriage.

It's not hard to love Andy. He is my perfect match and is exactly who i needed to help me through the rough and tumble of life. He is a wonderful husband and father! Charlie and i both love him so much!!
