The Agile Family

Do you know what The Agile Family is? You can watch this Ted Talks video by Bruce Feiler. Andy came across this video about a year ago and fell in love with the idea of this family planning technique. Andy does agile planning at work so doing it at home was exciting to him. We implemented the method into our family, tailoring it specifically to us. I will try and share briefly what we do.

Every Sunday we sit down for our weekly "scrum" meeting.
We discuss what worked in our week, what didn't work, and how we will improve the next week.
We also write out some of our main tasks to accomplish.
We try to focus on Christlike attributes like: were we patient, kind, diligent this last week?
Answering these types of questions helps us communicate effectively.
We discuss together how to improve individually, as a couple, and as a family.
Its been really awesome. I feel like i see our progress.
We are making changes and being more proactive in becoming something better.
I look forward to when our children will be join us to "scrum".
I feel like it will unify us and help us understand each other better.
Our system isn't perfect yet. It still needs to be tweaked here and there.
But its a good start.
