Valentines Day

Here's how we celebrated our special Valentines Day:

It started with Charlie finding the strawberry starter kit in my dresser drawer, my v-day gift for Andy, and taking it to him before he left for work. It was so odd. Andy was like, what is this? I was still in bed mostly sleeping. I saw and sleepily replied, its your v-day gift. Thanks Charlie for making the presentation more perfect than i could have.

Andy came home from work and we immediately left for dinner. We ate dinner at a very busy Settebello's. We started dinner with dessert, Italian ice cream.

Andy then took me to Cinderella a Ballet Performance. I had hinted earlier in the week that it would be a good idea. Turned out it was a bad idea. We both agreed at the end that it should be our last Ballet. Not that the dancers were bad, they were great. Its just a long time to watch people dance and act super cheesy because they can't speak. Ballets are great but its just not our thing.

I feel like Valentines is a little forced. My favorite dates with Andy are the unexpected. Our very first date is still one of my favorites. It was very unexpected! He was just some guy in my ward. But he called me up and convinced me to go out for a date. He took me to the Banff Mountain Film Festival. It was a perfect evening. I remember feeling that it felt nice being with him.
The films shown at Banff always inspire me! This is our first year missing the Film Fesitival since we have known each other. Big Bummer. I love Andy and am so grateful for that first unexpected date.

  1. When Chris and I were first married he was taking that art symposium (have no idea how to spell that) and we went to ta ton of ballets and operas and decided it was not our thing either. They were pretty long and too confusing.
