Christ Centered Beauty

We are living in enemy territory, “President Castillo quoted Elder Nelson in Stake Conference.  The first thing an enemy does when they capture you is take your identity.  They will disfigure you or take your name and give you a number. Our enemy, Satan, doesn’t want us to know who we are.
Moses 1- God appears to Moses tells him that he is a Son of God. Satan comes after demanding Moses to worship him. Moses knows who he is and tells Satan to “take a hike”.

        Self-Worship                                        Christ-Centered                                   Self-Hate

We can be anywhere on the spectrum. Both extremes of self-worship and self-hate are very selfish. Sister Anderson’s father told her, “You are much too valuable to waste”. I know Heavenly Father thinks that very thing about each of us. We are much too valuable to waste. If we get caught up on either side of this line, we are wasting the gifts God has given us.
We sometimes are more concerned about what others think of us: neighbors, friends, parents, spouse, siblings, teachers, co-workers, etc.  Remember Elder Anderson’s talk inGeneral Conference, “What thinks Christ of me?”

The world expects us to be: smart, thin, tan, beautiful, talented, busy, organized, creative, clean…the list goes on… but we know that these things don’t make us more valuable. At the judgment bar of God we will only be judged on spiritual things!

Don’t define yourself by what you do. True security is born when you know that you are a child of God. When we center our values on Christ we will be in perfect balance!

Alma the younger asks us in the Book of Mormon (Alma 5:14), Have ye received his image in your countenances? Have ye experienced this mighty change in your heart?”

(A beautiful lesson given in Relief Society yesterday. It truly inspired me. These are my notes. I hope i never forget this and always remember that true beauty comes from within. I am a Daughter of God!)
