Viva Las Vegas- Old News

Andy and I took a trip down to Las Vegas. The destination was originally San Diego but with our new plans of moving to Salt Lake we decided to just stay in Vegas and enjoy our time there. I wasn't feeling my best but besides that we had a good time.

Friday April 1st - The beginning of our trip was a mission reunion in Provo. I love mission reunions but i also dread them. I tried to be very focused on my mission and had a hard time socializing with the other missionaries especially Elders. At the reunion i love seeing all the Sisters but i don't really have any relationships with the Elders, which is fine, but i feel like i should. It was great to see my mission President.  He has never changed and i love that.

Saturday April 2- We got in the car and headed to Las Vegas. I was so happy to get to listen to conference in the car. I have never felt so focused listening to Conference. I really enjoyed the Saturday sessions and learned a great deal. I love when they talk about families and children. I have always looked forward to that day of having my own. When we got to Vegas we had dinner at my sister Brooks house. All the family came. It feels like it has been a while since we have all been gathered together. I was shocked to see my sister-in-law Linda. She was 39 weeks pregnant and her stomach was completely popped out and ready. Linda is so tiny it was hard to believe her stomach could stretch that far. Here is a picture we took of us four sisters:

Me 1st trimester, Keli 2nd trimster, Linda 3rd trimester, Brook baby
Big News! I am 9 weeks pregnant. The purpose of this picture was to show each trimester of pregnancy. It was fun. There i am in the first, Keli in the second, Linda in her third, and Brook with the end product a baby! Thats the reason for my sickness during the trip :)

Saturday Night us four siblings and spouses went to the Lion King at the Mandalay Bay. It was a great performance! Great costumes, great cast, great music! The one thing i didn't love was that the dialogue was exactly the same from the Disney movie. I could quote the actors lines right along with them. No big deal, we still loved it.

Sunday April 3- We woke up at Brooks house, made scones for breakfast and watched conference. I had a hard time focusing for many reasons. My glasses had previously snapped in half not allowing me to see. Martin, a fix it all type of man, melt the two sides together. Pretty amazing! Then just more excuses, i'll just say i can't wait till the magazine comes out and i can really study their talks. We also spent some time at Keli and Robby's. The funnest part of that was helping put the kids to bed. They like to have songs sung to them. Lilly asked me to sing "girl with a red balloon". Then what i do is attempt to make up a song about a girl with a red balloon. I was laughing as i heard Andy singing a song to James about Angelina Ballerina. James told Andy "You're not singing you're just talking". Andy sounded like Elf from the movie when he sings.

Monday April 4- Andy and I went to a spa and both had a massage. What luxury to lay in a warm soft bed being massaged. Great experience, i hope to do it again someday...soon! After we had lunch at Cafe Mimi's which was very tasty. Then we headed down to the outlet mall to find some new professional clothes for Andy's new job and a new Sunday dress for me. We found all that we needed :) We then headed to our hotel, Vdara. It's a new hotel downtown and very luxurious. It was very relaxing. Andy made a little video of our room.

We enjoyed dinner and a movie, Tangled, that night in our room.

Tuesday April 5- Our first item to do was go to see Hoover Dam. We took a Dam tour :) I feel like a lot of the it went over my head,,,like how the Dam actually works. I was really impressed with Mr. Hoover and what he did to get the dam going. It was a big deal.

We went swimming at the Vdara later that afternoon. Keli and Brook brought the kids and we had a good time basking in the sun that i have so much missed in Logan!

We got ice cream at a place called Luv-it custard ice cream. I got lemon and it was delicious. It was our last night in the Hotel we brought dinner to our hotel and watched the Chronicles of Narnia. It was a very relaxing trip which was very much needed especially as we were preparing to move.

  1. I LOVED Vegas when we were there last month. It sounds like you did too!
Now Blaire, I've told you this in your previous posts...None of your photos ever show...there's just a little question mark where they're supposed to be. Now that you don't live in Logan, it's especially important!!!
    I miss ya!
