So my bags aren't really packed but thats the song that always bounces into my head when i have a new adventure to embark on. John Denver sings the song "I'm leaving on a jet plane" The only lyrics i know to the song are... "All my bags are packed I'm ready to go." For those who know me well, they know i only know one line of lyrics from any song and i could drive you nuts singing because i will sing the one line over and over! True story.
Andy and i are starting a new adventure. The beginning of this new change started when he put his resume on a monsters website. I forget what its called but employers look for qualified people to work for them. I have always thought those things were a joke. Not this time. Andy got a call from a pro recruiter. He told Andy about an opportunity at Overstock.com . The guy sent Overstock Andy's resume. Last Monday Andy had a phone interview, Wednesday he went into headquarters to interview with 3 different men, and was offered the job on Friday. Today, Monday a week later, we both put in our two weeks notice to work and are making all our plans to move to Salt Lake. It all happened so fast. At the beginning i didn't want to move, then i was OK with the idea, and now i am so excited!
Not only will the benefits and pay be a great blessing for us but i feel like its time to move on to new and greater things. We are going to stay with Andy's parents until we find a place of our own. We are looking but we want to see these places in the flesh. Salt Lake housing is a lot more expensive than sweet little Logan. What am i saying? Everything (not just housing) is going to be pricier. I guess that comes with a better job.
When Andy first got offered the job i had forgotten that the past few months we had been praying for an increase so we could support a family. Like always, the Lord provided. I think its all Andy, he has got great faith. Me, i question too much. But my faith grows as i watch and learn from Andy. He is a great husband.
Congratulations to you Blaira & Andy! I'm going to miss having you in Logan...I'm kinda sad-feeling. It sounds like a great job. Jake and I get stuff from Overstock sometimes and they're HUGE!
ReplyDeleteWell, I hope we can hang out a few more times before you move.
Also, you need to post your pics from last post!
Congrats on the job. I day dream of the day Chris gets a good job and we can move somewhere in a house and have bennifits, haha. I also really like Salt Lake so that shoudl be exciting! Were abouts in salt Lake will you be looking to live?
ReplyDeleteYeah we are excited! He will be working in Cottonwood Heights but that area is pricey so we are looking to other close area's. I am definitely going to miss my dear friends in Logan!
