BACKGROUND: I had been unable to eat since the beginning of December. I was surviving on
nutrition drinks and tomato soup. I am not covered by insurance so we were waiting
nutrition drinks and tomato soup. I am not covered by insurance so we were waiting
until we did to see a doctor. We went through the long process of applying for
insurance and were waiting to hear back if we had been accepted.
So...on that first Sunday we went with out food and water for two meals. I prayed my little heart out seeking understanding, answers, and a solution. I felt so much peace that day. I new that things were going to work out and that the Lord was on our side. Monday came and i had lots of hope for my future. I arrived home from work and headed straight to the computer to see if there was any news from the insurance company. I was excited to see an email from them. I opened it up and began to read...not good news after all. We were rejected. A million questions ran through my head. I quickly forgot the peace i had felt the day before. Tears streamed down my face. I wanted so bad to get back to normal. I wanted to eat food and feel energy. During all of my confusion i received a call from my mother. She had answers! She had been talking to her sister Colleen about my problems and found out that her son, Aaron, had similar experiences. What he had done was had his throat stretched and all was well. I knew that was an answer to my prayer.
My sweet mother found the doctor and made an appointment. Because we didn't have insurance the expense was very large but we were prepared and knew it would be worth it. I was preparing for the procedure and grateful that the Lord answered my plea. Little did i know that He wasn't finished.
My Grandma and Grandpa Whitaker were settling down for the night when grandma felt that they should invite the neighbors over for games. So they did. Enjoying games and conversation my grandma brought up the incident going on with my throat and the dilemma of having no insurance. This friend of theirs is a retired insurance man. He continues to stay updated with current policies. When my grandma told him about my situation he told her that i should be able to be on my parents insurance, even though i am married. Grandma was thrilled and called to tell me Dad. He being a little disbelieving took the information and looked further into it. Only to find out that I was still on his insurance.
I was amazed. Both Andy and I were very humbled by the experience. We know that the Lord answers our prayers. He hears! He answers! I know that if i give Him my all he will give His. I am so grateful to learn this lesson and hope i will always remember His love and concern for me.
I won't leave you hanging....i had my throat stretched and looked at and everything is OK. I am getting better. I can eat food :) All thanks to my Father in Heaven!
